Why rank tracking matters

Page 1 or invisible.

Page1

ready-to-book searches are won early

Homeowners rarely dig for a contractor. Knowing which terms you already own, and which are one push away, is half the work.

Intent

long-tail terms reveal buying intent

“Burst pipe austin tx” tells you more than “plumber.” Nesta focuses on the service and location phrases that point to real demand.

Volatile

local rankings move without warning

Without regular tracking, you often find out a term dropped only after the phone gets quiet. Nesta catches movement while there is still time to respond.

What we find

The terms worth winning.

01

Commercial intent

Terms homeowners search when they're ready to book, “emergency plumber,” “water heater repair near me.” Not vanity terms, not informational queries.

02

Long-tail variations

“Burst pipe austin tx,” “tankless installation cost.” Higher conversion, lower competition. We track the variations the head-term tools miss.

03

Local modifiers

Service terms paired with cities and neighborhood names. Same query in different neighborhoods ranks differently — we track each.

04

Seasonal terms

Frozen pipes (Jan), AC repair (Jul), furnace install (Oct). Demand patterns mapped year-over-year so you lean in 3 weeks before peak.

05

Competitor terms

Branded queries for your top rivals. When homeowners search them, what comes up first, and where you land in the also-rans.

06

AI-favored phrasings

How questions get phrased to AI assistants (“who should I call for...” vs. “best plumber in...”). Different from typed search and worth tracking separately.

Seasonal demand

Lean in three weeks before peak.

Trade demand isn't flat. Plumbers see frozen-pipe spikes in January. HVAC techs hit AC peaks in July. Roofers see post-storm surges. We map your year-over-year demand by term so you know when to publish, when to push paid, and when to coast.

  • Frozen pipes · Dec–Feb spike for plumbers
  • AC repair · Jun–Aug spike for HVAC
  • Storm damage · Triggered, not seasonal, for roofers

The Agent's role

Rank data, turned into next moves.

Rank data without action is just spreadsheets. The Agent reads it, prioritizes it, and queues the specific on-page change that closes each gap.

01 · Alerts
Watching

Catches the drops before leads stop coming.

Drop 3+ positions on a tracked term? The Agent surfaces it with the working hypothesis — competitor publish, content drift, GBP change. No more finding out a month late from a quiet phone.

02 · On-page suggestions
Drafted

Suggests the on-page change that closes the gap.

For priority terms sitting near page one, the Agent drafts specific changes: H1 updates, meta rewrites, schema adds, and internal-link ideas with an effort estimate.

03 · Content gaps
Suggesting

Recommends new pages for terms you don't cover.

When demand exists for a term and you have no page targeting it, the Agent flags the gap and drafts the page. You review, edit, and publish from inside the app.

Questions

About keyword tracking.

How do you decide which keywords to track?+
Nesta starts with your trade, service area, and the highest commercial-intent terms in your market. You can edit the list any time, add, remove, or import from your existing tracker.
Can I add my own keywords?+
Yes. Add as many as your plan allows. Most operators add 10–20 of their own (specific services, neighborhood targets, competitor brand terms) to supplement the auto-picked list.
What search surfaces do you focus on first?+
Google search and local visibility are the primary surfaces because that is where most home-service demand starts. We also use AI visibility and search-result evidence to show where the market is shifting.
What about voice search?+
Voice searches tend to be more conversational, so we watch the underlying commercial themes and AI-style questions instead of treating them like a separate keyword spreadsheet.
How is this different from SEMrush or Ahrefs?+
Those are agency tools — broad keyword databases, export-to-spreadsheet workflows. We're built for operators: pre-picked commercial terms, prioritized action lists, and the Agent drafting the on-page changes for you. Different audience, different output.
